Usually you just plug these into your usb port, and if needed install the drivers off a cd-rom. Really easy, just don't forget to re-input your WEP key.

Place the WiFi booster half way between the WiFi base station and your computer. The booster increases the range of the base station, leading to better network throughput.

Its possible that your connection speed will be faster (not your computer itself), but signal boosters are usually to boost the overall range of the wireless signal. Unless you're on the edge of the signal strength limit, I don't see you getting much more speed than you already have available.

If it is for your computer, plug it into your wireless card where the antenna is. If for the router, do the same but on the router.

A wifi signal booster will not improve the connection speed. It only boosts the signal strength. So you will see no speed benefit unless your old signal ridiculously weak.

A wifi signal will not have anything to do with making your computer faster. It could possibly make your internet connection faster but not the system itself. It just amplifies your router signal so that you get a stronger connection over a farther distance. This makes it easier to connect and transfers data without dropping he signal as often.
