How do you undo a car trunk lock from the inside?

Many vehicles manufactured after the 2000 model year have some kind of trunk release in the trunk. it is not a federal requirement so not all makes and models have this feature. Some manufactures are offering a retro fit kit that can be dealer installed. These kits will generally not work for vehicles prior to 1990.

Just about every new car should have some form of interior trunk release as well as some older ones. It usually a handle you just pull to open the trunk.
