If you catch the ring worm early it can be treated with a fungicide that contains Miconazole. Just go to your local drug store and look at creams that are used to treat athletes foot. These medications usually contain that drug. If the ring worm is in an advanced state you will need to take your cat to the vet.

First of all, the cat should see a vet. If this is not possible there are anti fungal topical cream and oral. The lesion should be trimmed; if the cat is long hair the area should be shaved. Use proper hygiene to prevent spreading the parasite to humans and other pets.

You will need to purchase a medicated shampoo and wash the cat regularly (as directed) the other option (if you can't see a vet) is a betadine solution, but the best option is to see a vet. remember Ring worm is HIGHLY contagious and can be passed on to other cats, dogs and other animals as well as humans.
