You should first watch you dogs eating habits, if you find she eats less in the morning this could be morning sickness. Next check the size of the dogs nipples, these will grow during early pregnancy. Your dogs energy level will decrease during pregnancy and her belly will begin to grow at about mid-pregnancy.

You have to wait awhile before the babies are big enough to be detected. Some veterinarians can feel puppies around 23 days after the dog got pregnant. Otherwise, you have to wait and do an ultrasound or x-ray to confirm.
