It can be tricky for younger kids to get the hang of it, but you might want to teach it as a pattern. First, make a straight line with the lace and then left, right, left, right, until all holes are used. Making it look nice could be confusing.

You can use two approaches, you demonstrate as he laces on another shoe or you can put your hands over his and pracice together.

In order to teach a kid to tie shoes, you must first demonstrate your particular method. After demonstrating your method, you must walk him through the steps. You must then have the kid tie his shoes in repetition so as to ensure proper understanding.

I would teach a child the proper way to tie their shoes for proper fit and relax fit not to tight and not to loose for their protection when playing or sport activities. teaching them not to pull with too much force when tying.
