Go to HP's website under support and type in your model number and search for a service manual. Some components like the HDD, WiFi card and RAM can be easily replaced by just a couple screws. Other parts require total disassembly.

The hard drive can be accessed by removing the battery. You will need a small Phillips head screwdriver to open its casing and access the rest of the components.

Taking apart notebooks can be difficult. There are several screws in the bottom that will need to come out, as well as ones hidden by pieces of hardware.

This is a difficult task. There are many screws and parts which makes the task more difficult. Purchasing a take-apart guide with pictures can help in this situation.

To dissemble this notebook is quite hard. As there are many screws and parts, your best bet would be to do a web search for a take-apart guide with pictures. Keep a record of where each screw came from, and place them in an ice cube tray as you take them out.

There is basically no easy way to get this task done. You have to remove the system board. The main reason for removing the system board is accessing and replacing the cooling fan witch is located on the bottom side of the system board.

here is no easy access to the cooling fan from the bottom of the HP Pavilion dv5000 series laptop, you'll have to take the whole thing apart. In the step 3 you'll have to remove all screws from the bottom. I believe the author forgot to mention that in his description.

Turn the laptop upside down and unscrew all the screws visible on the bottom of the laptop. Then turn the front side up and remove from plate to exposure innards.
