hair  how to

Question by  BabyMamma (34)

How do you strip a perm?

I have changed my mind, my hair looks bad with a perm.

I think if you go to a salon they can do a "reverse perm" on you where they use the same solution they did for the perm, only they comb the hair really straight instead of wrap it in rollers. Don't expect it to completely straighten your hair though.

If you can't go to a stylist, go to Sally Hansen! There are many Sally Hansen stores, and they're the best place to go for over-the-counter, professional and salon-recommended products.

You can only straighten your hair with a flat iron. If you were to try a relaxer it will damage your hair to the point of a chemical haircut.

You can put another perm and comb your hair straight while processing, or put a relaxer on it. Either one is going to damage your hair, though.

Reversing a perm is not an easy undertaking and can weaken your hair or even worse cause terrible breakage. The only homemade remedy I have heard of is to use beer but I must caution that I have never tried this myself and I dont know whether it will work. Unless it really awful I would suggest leaving your hair as is.

A perm can't be stripped out of the hair because the natural texture of the hair has been altered. The best thing to do is grow the permed hair out.

Taking a shower or getting your hair wet within the first twenty four hours of getting a perm will deactivate the chemicals used to perm your hair, therefore getting rid of the perm.
