How do you stop cats from fighting?

Humans really shouldn't interfere when cats are fighting. This is normal for felines and very common. Separation and a call to the Vet should occur if the fighting results in severe hair loss or bloodshed. Otherwise, let the cats show their aggression towards each other. They are getting to know who is the dominant feline, and testing the waters.

most cat fighting occurs at night, so keep them inside. if it's your cats that are fighting each other keep them in separate rooms overnight. stopping them fighting stray cats also lowers their risk of diseases such as feline aids.
