How do you stop a file compression?

If the program doing the compressing has a cancel button on the dialogue box, click that. If not, use Task Manager to stop the process.

Strange question.. If you know how to start the file compression you must know how to stop it. Ok, when the compression starts there will appear a window showing the progress of the compression so in the same window you'll see 4 buttons one of them saying cancel so you have to click it!

Either turn off the computer, press escape, cntl alt delete and then cancel the process. YOur best bet is to turn off the computer.
