How do you select your own residential phone number?

When you call to set up service you can ask the people if you can select your own phone number. Some companies will even allow you to use your old phone number at your new address. The other option is to get a cell phone and use that as your home phone. Then it will always be the same.

All you need to do is get in touch with your current telephone service. You need to let them know you want to keep your current phone number even after you move. You will however probably need to keep the same phone company.
