How do you save oil?

Voting for politicians that have interests in reducing America's dependence on oil, searching for new energy methods such as solar, wind and hydro and looking for alternatives for fuel. Life style changes can also have impact and include riding bikes, and carpooling. Recycling and reducing waste would also have an impact on the the use of oil.

The best way to save oil is to use less for transportation. If you have a car, use it less -- walk, bike, carpool or use public transportation whenever possible, and make your next car a hybrid or electric. If use diesel, use biodiesel if possible. If you heat with oil, insulate and switch to renewables if you can.

One way to contribute is to drive less. Start carpooling more with co-workers or friends. Take public transportation more often when possible than driving everywhere. If you're town doesn't have public transportation and you feel it does, start a petition to submit to your local government.
