How do you repair a torn canvas painting in a way that you will never know it was torn?

If it's on canvas board, you're not going to be able to repair it. Sometimes stretched canvas can be sewn then painted back over if you have the appropriate skills. Aside from that you would really have no other choice aside from taking it to a certified restorer of art. That can get pretty expensive though.

Most people who restore canvas paintings will tell you to first figure out the type of paint used in the painting. Match the colors to the torn areas as close as possible. Tape the backside of the canvas so that the seams match flawlessly and only use paint in the cracks if they show.

Torn canvas is often hard to repair. Depending on the size and location of the tear, you'll need to take it to a professional

You can repair a tear in canvas by flattening the canvas, applying a new piece of canvas to the back and touching up the paint.
