How do you remove the flywheel from a small engine?

The Flywheel is held on by a very tight fit. Be very careful when you remove it, so you do not damage the motor. You can use a flywheel puller but they are expensive for the home owner. You can work two wooden shims under each side of the flywheel while gently tapping the crankshaft with a hammer.

You will need a flywheel puller. You can rent one from a lawn and garden rental center. The flywheel will also require a certain torque pressure when you replace the flywhhel, so you will also need a torque wrench and torque specifications for that application.

first off is the rewinder well the pull start thingy on the front. then you have to remove the clutch on the end of the crank (its reverse threaded) there is a small key in between the crank and the flywheel look very close to see it .the fly wheel should fall right off with alittle help

If your are wanting to remove this fly wheel then you will need to take off some basic screws first then you will need to take off the cover to get to it.
