How do you remove the battery cable in a GM?

The first thing you need to do is get the right size wrench or socket. Usually I start with a half inch and work my way up or down from there. Start by removing the negative terminal from the battery first and then the positive terminal. Always remove the negative terminal first to prevent yourself from getting shocked.

Not knowing the exact make and year makes it hard to say. Typically you simply lossen the nut on the terminal connection and it should slide off. Side post models have a bolt that goes through the center. Remove the bolts and they should come off.
