You will need adhesive remover, sponge, plastic putty knife, rubber gloves, old towels or rags to remove carpet glue. First, test an area to make sure that the adhesive remover will not damage your floor. Use the gloves to protect your hands while dampening the glue with adhesive remover. When the glue softens, gently scrape it with the putty knife.

The best way to remove glue is to reactivate it by melting it. You can try placing a damp towel over the spot of carpet glue. Use an iron and run it across the damp towel several times. The glue should become moist and sticky and stick to the damp cloth instead of the carpet.

The best way is to buy a scraper and then boil some water. Make sure the water is boiling hot, cover the glue areas with the boiling hot water and let it soak for at least 5-10 mins. Longer idrhe glue is really thick or the area is really large. Then use scraper to scap the glue from the floor.

A good to remove carpet glue is first rubbing it off as much you can with water/ oil product because it breaks down the ionic bonds and molecules in the glue. Once, you have alot of it removed, go to home depot and buy some of the carpet glue remover. Works like a charm.
