Gently but firmly take your time to pull it out with a pair of tweezers, trying to keep the tick intact. Ask for help, if needed.

I use Vaseline or olive oil. Spread the oil on the top of the tick. This blocks it's breathing orifice and it will back out. You can also use a pair of curved tweezers to grip the tick as close to your skin as possible and pull straight out.

The most efficient way to remove a tick that has become embedded in the skin is to use a tweezers. Grasp the tick as close to the skin as possible and pull slowly straight out from the skin. If any part of the tick remains, remove it as well.

The best way to remove an embedded tick is with a pair of tweezers. You have to be sure to remove the entire tick. However, a bite by a tick requires a trip to the doctor as they carry many diseases.
