How do you re-key a door lock?

To re-key a door lock you have to take out the locking mechanism from the door and replace it with a new locking mechanism. You can buy new locking mechanisms at Wal-Mart or Home Depot and they come with new keys and instructions on installing them. It is actually fairly simple to do.

There are a coupke of things you can do in this situation you can either get a locksmith to come in and fix the locks for you that will be expensive. Or you can go to the store and buy all new locks and either install them yourself or contact someone with the knowledge and have them do it.
