You will need a sturdy ironing board and a steam iron. Lay your trousers flat along the length of the ironing board. Run the iron over the top of both pant legs, then iron each leg on its own in smaller sections, in circular motions. Make sure inseams are lined up, and repeat on each leg; each side.

Use a cutting board like a seamstress would have that has a ruler printed on it so that when you iron in the crease, you can ensure it's centered.

Try folding them where you want the crease and then spritzing it with liquid corn starch to set in the creases you are creating. The corn starch will set the pleats, but still come out easily in the wash. Also, sometimes you can set them just by folding them up for a long period of time.

One thing you can do is use paper clips or, in a pinch, bobby pins, to hold the fabric in place. Make sure you have them straight before you iron. Also, be sure to iron the "right" side of your pants last, so that you don't mess up the creases.

You need to iron them in. I would steam the pants first and then iron the creases in. You may need to use starch to get them to stay but it looks nice.
