How do you program police scanners?

You need to find the scanner frequencies for your area.Press the PGM button and if the channel spot is flashing a 3 digit number will show up. This is used to store your frequencies. From this point you should be able to switch channels and pick up frequencies from all police departments in the county.

You can look at the directions and it will say something like programming your new police scanner. It should be relatively simple and all it should be is hitting one or two buttons.

As each device will have not only differant features, but also differant controls to access those features, the best approch would be to follow the included instructions.

Just hit scan or open scan and it will remember what channel's come threw it.According to the manufacturer can also hit manual enter and put in code's according to model.
