What channels do the police use on a scanner?

Each area uses a different channel. Your best bet is to just get a police radio scanner. Normally the frequencies that police officers use cannot be pick up on a normal AM/FM radio. Now days they are also starting to encrypt their broadcasts on digital channels.

Depending on your state police you different channels. Look online for a site listing common frequencies used in your area or use your scan feature if your receiver has one.

Well I don't think there is a single channel used in every state. You will either have to scan to find it or look online for a list of frequencies.
