The best way to practice for any math quiz is to do many math problems of interest. For algebra, you should find as many problems as you can and work them out until you can do them without any outside help.
Study formulas and equations. Work out the problems in your book. Most books have answers in the back. It is also helpful to work on problems in future chapters.
