It won't go in all the nooks and crannies.

The best way is to spray the wall, if this isn't possible, use a brush or a 3/4 inch nap roller.

The best way to paint a textured wall is with an airless paint sprayer. The spray will penetrate the texture and get into those nooks and crannies. Just be sure to spray it from several different angles in order to coat everything.
