Call for an appointment and explain you want a "get to know interview" as well as your fear. Take a trusted friend with you. Keeping the door open also might help.

Ask yourself why you think you have this fear, maybe you can resolve it that way. Or talk to a trusted friend or as a last resort consult a therapist.
