How do you over-winter a Leptospermum?

I'm not sure if I should cover the roots or move it indoors.

If it is in a well protected spot it should do fine. Mulching it heavily will be necessary. The best way to keep it alive for sure would be to move it inside.

Also known as Pink Tea Tree, this plant can withstand some colder weather. You can cover the soil with leaves and other insulating material or remove to inside. This tree needs direct sunlight and watered regularly, as this plant's #1 enemy is lack of water. It is recommended to place inside for the first winter.

First you have to cut it back so that the leaves are no longer on the plant. Dont woory the leaves will grow back this just protects them from dying. Also keep the plant inside and keep your house at room temperature so the plant will not die. good luck.

You should treat the Tea Tree as a houseplant in the cold weather. Transfer indoors before first frost, making sure container has a good drainage system. Do not overwater.
