diy  wine

Question by  Lijo (10)

How do you make your own wine?

Can you just use regular grocery store grapes?

Answer by  Zaka (2315)

You can try grocery grapes, but your wine may be very thin. Instead buy wine grapes at specialty stores, the adequate yeats and a container. Mix and allow the fermentation to take place. Your main concernt hen will be to clear the wine from dead yeast sediments later.

It is adviseable to acquire wine varietal grapes as those have the necessary sugar and acidity content to make acceptable drinking wine. Furthermore, if you are trying to make a red wine, grocery bought grapes will not have suffient skin tannins to colour your wine. If, however, the quality is not relevant in your attempt then grocery grapes are fine.
