You get honey and mix it with water and a specific kind of yeast. Allow it to ferment and filter the lees, or spent yeast cells. There you have it, mead ready to drink.
Mead is fermented honey and as such is not technically a wine. You get honey, heat it, allow to cool and add the yeast to ferment.
