Indian Ink was originally made by burning bones, tar, and pitch before combining it with hide glue. However, later in the creation of this ink, there began to be a shortage of pine, where the tar and pitch came from. As a result, that part was swapped out for burning petroleum.

Use ink from squid from local fishermen. Very unusual but makes great Indian ink which you can write with or use to paint with. Needs no thinning and is eco-friendly!
