                                                          The base of any good soup is broth.  Either make or buy a good vegetable broth out by simmering carrots, celery, onions, or other vegetables in water for 2 to 3 hours.  Once you have your broth, add any kinds of vegetables you want in your soup, and simmer for another hour or two with seasoning.
