You take the lower level on the cliper usually 1 or 2 and you cut the har in a downward motion following the natual hair growth direction

Cut the back of the hair with the shortest blade length on the clippers and go from the neck to about halfway to the crown, then you want to change the length and cut the rest blending where one stops and the other begins.

Create yourself guides using a clipper and starting at zero. The zero guide should be about halfway, about one inch over the ear. At an inch above, change to a one. An inch above that, change to a two.
