It really depends on what you're going for. There are many different ways to do this. Refer to the item schematic, there are many item brands/types for a general answer.

You will need: Clear plastic bottle Water Food coloring Vegetable oil Salt 1 Alka-Seltzer tablet Fill three quarters of bottle with vegetable oil. Add enough water to fill bottle. Add food coloring. Break the tablet into small pieces and add to bottle one at a time. Place bottle over a light source to illuminate the effect.

You will need a bottle(plastic or glass)as big as you like,some vegetable oil,airborne tablet(cut it up in 8 pieces) if you don't have it salt will do just fine.

Pour about 3 inches of water and 1/3 cup of vegetable oil into a jar. Add food colouring. Shake salt on top of the oil while you count slowly to 5. Add more salt to keep the action going for as long as you want.
