You have to go to a Social Services or a Child Welfare office to start the process. If you there is another parent you can sign your rights over to that parent but you will never be able to have a say in your child's life again. In adoption they find your child a foster home.

Usually this depends on the age of the child. Most of the time you just find a family or an adoption agency and they will handle all of the legal stuff and money issues.

Get a lawyer that handles this. You sign all your rights away as a parent and give the child up for adoption.

In order to give up a child you need to contact the Human Services department in your state and speak with a counsler, if you are still pregnant you may contact a lawyer or even your OBGYN and inform them that you would like to place the child for adoption.
