On an automatic vehicle, a jump start requires a charged battery or other appropriate power supply and jumper cables. Connect the jumper cables to the vehicle that will not start by connecting the red clip to the positive cable and the black clip to the negative, do the same on the charged battery. Then simply turn the ignition.

First connect the Black jumper lead to the negative of the dead battery, and the other black end to a ground in the good car. Next, attach the Red end to the postive battery terminal of the good battery, and the other red to the dead battery's positive terminal.
