First you should have an application typed out and asked them to fill it out. Make sure you call all the references they put. Ask for at least three. Sit and talk to them then let them meet and interact with the kids. Watch how they do so.

You should invite the person over applying for the nanny position and first off see how she or he is with your children. Ask questions based off of that.

Before even choosing a nanny to interview, I suggest you get recommendation from other people. When interviewing the nanny, have the child come in the room to be introduced and see how the child responds.

If your looking for a good nanny make sure they have plenty of experience, love children, can pass a criminal and child protective service background check. You also need to make sure they have the same morals and agree with the way you want your children to be raised.

I would have my child in the room with me and see what reaction your child has to the nanny to be. What kind of impression does your child have? Call references on the spot if you must. Ask if they would be willing to pay to have their fingerprints checked.

There are various websites and want ads which nannies advertise in. Go to these sites, and set up interviews and ask appropriate questions.
