This can be easy, or difficult. Depending on the model of the car. Usually though, you can find a model that will be a perfect fit for your vehicle. A local car stereo sales person can also turn you onto the wiring harness for your vehicle and a self explanatory installation kit.

You must buy an installation kit for your make and model of car and follow the instructions to install the CD player into the car.

Get a wiring harness that is designed for your vehicle. Then, match the colors of the harness from to the colors of the cd player. ie. yellow - yellow for Constant 12v. Red to red for switched 12v, black to black for ground, etc.
