How do you insert header 1 into header in Word?

To just insert a header in Word, just double click near the top of a page. It should open up the header/footer insert dialog. There you get to choose various options - like add page numbers etc... You can also select to have a separate first page and many other such features. You can also set margins.

Move the mouse pointer over the view option on the Menu bar, and click the left mouse-button. A pull-down menu gets displayed on your screen. Inside the pull-down menu, move the mouse-pointer over the Header option and click the left-mouse button. A Header box along with dotted line comes up on the screen. Inside the dotted line box, insert header 1.

Click on view menu. click on Header and Footer option. A header and a footer appear on top and at the bottom of the page respectively ready for editing.
