Building codes will require that the wood stove have a fresh air intake as well as a smoke (exhaust) vent. On the first floor, you would have to add an exterior smoke stack straight up outside of the house. The fresh air would come in near the floor. Check with your local building inspector.

Essentially all you have to remember is that you need a smoke outlet and the smoke needs to travel up above the second story. You can do this by running a chimney through the second floor, or by attaching it to the outside of the house.

The most imporant part to install is the chimney. You need to secure the hole for the stovepipe with fireproof and heat resistant insulation. If you don't the stovepipe will ignite your walls and ceiling.

If you are wanting to install this stove into your house you will need to get the wiring done first. Once the wiring has been complete the rest of the setup is easy.
