With Windows, click on the start button (lower left hand corner), then click on "all programs", then "accessories," then "system tools," then "disc defragment"
Depends on the OS. For Windows based OS's, right click on your hard drive icon and select Properties. The click the Tools tab and finally the "Defragment Now..." button. Other OS's have third party tools for this, as does Windows (ie Diskkeeper)
Follow this. Click Start--> All Programs --> Accessories --> System tools --> Disk Fragmenter. Click on the Analyze button first which checks all the areas that can be fragmented. Once that is done click on defragment and leave it for some time. You are good to go.
All you need to do is to use a defrag program. You can download one but most system have one pre-installed. Just run it and follow it's directions and it will defrag your hard rive.
