How do you give a thank you speech?

No one ever likes when someone goes too long on their thank you speech so first off, try to keep it short. Don't try to lead off with humor unless you really feel comfortable with it because otherwise you may look like a fool. Finally, don't thank too many people in the speech just go for a few special ones.

The thing to remember when giving a speech like this is to maintain focus. It's easy to forget why you've received the award; your work and the work of others.

Speak from the heart. Be geniune and thank the people who helped you complete your goal and who deserve gratitude.
