How do you get into a kayak so you don't tip?

I don't want to be in the water before I even get started.

Park kayak parallel to shore, place paddle from shore to BEHIND cockpit, grab far-end of kayak & paddle, put closest-leg into cockpit, turn your body & lift other-leg into kayak.

the best way to get into a kayak is to begin on a dock or a beach. this allows for more stability and will allow you to keep dry
