First, if you are losing goldfish weekly, you may want to find a new pet store to buy from. Also, check your water. Using tap water is usually fine, but never use distilled water. It can also be helpful to take a sample of your water to a local pet store, where they can check it for harmful impurities.

It is probably ammonia buildup that is killing your fish. Goldfish pee a lot, to be honest. Make sure you do not have too many fish for the tank, and get some Ammo-Rid chips to add to your filter. Also make sure the pH is balanced (7. 0).

Keep your fishes water clean. Remove food and poo debris from it and when out change the water add a de-chlorinator to the water. Be sure all soap residue is clear after washing. Your fish could live a very long time! Also, try buying from another store!
