How do you get a pay raise?

It is tough to get a raise these days, other than a token amount. The best way to increase your income is to move to a similar job at another company that pays more.

If you have talked to your manager already about getting a raise, you can try discussing the issue with the next level of management. If you are really desperate, you can start looking for other jobs. Tell your manager this, and they may be more inclined to give a raise.
