A hematoma is the result of blood that has collected after escaping the vessels. a hematoma in the uterus is called a subchronic hematoma and is usually the result blood collecting and forming a clot as the result of the formation of placental tissue. It usually resolves on its own.

This usally happens during pregnancy. It is when blood clots form within the lays of the placenta. The hematoma it self eventually clears up and goes away.

Usually it is from trauma, maybe you were raped or had very hard sexual intercourse and that could cause you to get a hematoma in your uterus.

Hematomas can occur in the uterus during pregnancy as the result of a tumor or trauma to the area; however, there is often no definable cause.
