The easiest way is to click on the Apple icon on the menu bar and select "Force Quit..." from the menu. A box is then displayed with a list of running applications. In the box click on the application that you would like to stop and then click the "Force Quit" button.

A method using the mouse would be to click on the apple icon in the top left corner of your screen, click on force quit then click on the program that is unresponsive. Another way is to hold Command, Alt/Option, and Escape until the "Force Quit Applications" window that pops up, then select the unresponsive application and click "Force Quit".

To force quit a non responsive application on this type of computer, you should (on your keyboard) press Ctrl, Alt, and Delete all at the same time. When you do this action, a window called "Task Manager" will come up, and it will allow you to close the program that was not responding.
