Heads are a bit oblong with a bit of an oval shape. Try drawing profiles first. Get a feel for the curvature of the top of the head down the backside of the neck as well as the brow and nose. Then move on to a frontal view of the face which is an actually oval to start.

To draw a human head, one begins by creating an egg shape on its side, with the base of the egg analogous to the base of the skull. To the front of that, and beginning midway down, a triangular shape is attached that will become the face. Finally, a cylinder underneath the center of the egg completes the neck.
