the best way is to get your motorcycle endorsment and find a dealer that will let you ride the demo bikes. Ride a wide variety until you find the one that you are most comfortable riding and handling.

First see if you can touch the ground and reach the bars. Make sure the bike is of lower power not a 1000 or 750, 600 or lower for sure.

Look on the internet and in various bike magazine for information on where to start. The main thing to remember is to start off on something comfortable. A smaller bike will be much easier to learn on and you can always trade up later as your skills improve. Just make sure the proper gear include a full face helmet.
