If the system of Windows XP is required to be deleted, I will try to format the system disk partition via DOS. Please keep in mind that if you choose to format it, you will lose all information on that partition. So before that, please backup important materials first.

brother if you have 2 operating systems and want to delete previous windows then simply format drive from dos (from 2nd operating system) and if you only have 1 os then you need a windows cd for this purpose

Basically, all you have to do is erase the harddisk. There are several programs to do that. An easy and free of charge method is to use an installation CD for a Linux OS, e.g. Ubuntu, Suse, Mandriva or Redhead. Make sure to backup any data on the harddisk you might still need.

The easiest way (without destroying your harddrive) would be to format the harddrive-- this will wipe any and all data from it so back up any important information.
