"Apologetic" is an adjective to describe someone who appears sorry. For example, someone who knows they have done something wrong may give you an apologetic look. Or, someone could write an apologetic letter to someone they have wronged.

Apologetic may be defined as evidencing or having a demeanor, attitude, or stance of regret and a wish or intent to be forgiven for a previously committed act or thought. Generally appeasing. Attempting to assuage and injustice or incidence. Admitting fault and desiring forgiveness from a party that one has wronged.
