How do you clear a clogged drain?

It fills up with standing water when I brush my teeth.

A really good natural way is to drop yogurt down the drain. The bacteria will eat the collected hair and grime that clogged the drain or collected on the sides. Another way is to use a liquid like Drain-o which lubricates the blockage so it flows along the pipe with the flow of the water.

It's likely that the drain has filled with soap/hair etc. Pour a small amount (15ml) of bleach into the drain and leave it overnight. Then use a plunger to try and force the blockage out.

There two options. The first is to use a commercial product like Drano Gel and follow package directions. The clog will break up and flush away. Second option, open up the trap and manually remove the clog (soap.hair,etc.)Wash trap pieces in another sink, then re-install trap. Run water to check trap is properly sealed.

Typically the most cost effective way to clear a drain is to purchase and use a bottle of drain cleaner. Just follow the directions on the bottle.
