Rub olive oil into the scalp and let sit for 25 minutes, whip egg whites, apply and let dry and then remove using soft comb. Gently wash babies head with Selsun Blue and use a warm, wet cloth and repeat this whole process as needed.

If the area is inflamed or looks like it is spreading then see your pediatrician. Cradle cap is very common and is harmless. This is a simple way to remove this nasty looking condition. Wash the baby's head with a mild baby shampoo and use a specially made for baby nylon brush to brush the scalp and loosen the flakes.

There are different shampoos available from the chemists but where babies are concerned visitng a doctor and following there advice or visiting your local pharmacy is a good idea as they can recoment the best products to use.

The way I cleaned cradle cap when any of my children had it was to put baby oil over the head and leave it for a number of hours, then wash with mild baby soap, may need to do this several times.
