You should spend time with a few diffrent breeds with the whole family to see which breed is the most compatable. Ask around to people you know for their ideas and go to an animal shelter

When considereing a puppy for your family, go by physical qualities. Are they fun, active, quiet lazy, etc. The behavior of the dog depends highly upon the treatment from the owner, so as long as you love the dog, despite the breed, it will love you back.

Go for a loyal breed that is playful and friedly. The key to getting a good dog is to get a friendly one. I recommend a Malamute or Huskie.
